LITERATURE WORKS ADVICE SURGERIES

10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00 Glebe Farmhouse Sitting Room. Admission free.

Literature Works nurtures and supports literature throughout the region. That’s why they’re pleased to announce a set of four bookable advice surgeries in collaboration with the North Cornwall Book Festival.

During the advice surgeries, they will contribute advice and guidance on your literature project or idea. The surgeries are offered free of charge.

Literature Works is the regional literature development agency for the South West of England and as such, we prioritise opportunities for people in our region, including these advice surgeries. They are popular and we will keep your name on a waiting list if you are unable to secure a place (please email info@literatureworks.org.uk) to be placed on the waiting list. If you are a literature lover based elsewhere, you can find links to our counterparts organisations in the other regions of England here.

Taking place on Saturday 25th September, these surgeries are offered on a first-come, first served basis at the following times:
10- 10.45 am

11 -11.45 am

12 – 12.45 pm

2-2.45 pm

3 – 3.45 pm

The surgeries will focus on these main areas:

Funding – finding potential sources and making a convincing case
Networks – connecting you to helpful people and projects
Project management – such as setting budgets, planning and governance
Evaluation, metrics and impact – the basic principles, dos and don’ts
Audience development – making and executing a plan
Social media and website advice

We ask that once you have secured your place using the ‘book now’ button, you email info@literatureworks.org.uk no later than one week before your surgery to provide us with a short summary of your project or idea (maximum 50 words) and indicate which two of the above six areas you are particularly interested in focusing on. We will do our best to talk across the range of focuses you select and will allocate a member of our team to run your surgery based on availability and skill set. These sessions will take place in person, at the North Cornwall Book Festival in St. Endellion. There will be signage on the day directing you.

Please note, if we do not hear from you one week prior to your session, regrettably we will need to move your surgery to later in the year. This is because we need time to prepare and to allocate staff time to these sessions, which are very popular. These sessions are reserved for people booking via the North Cornwall Book Festival website.
