The North Cornwall Book Festival comes to Delabole!
Some clocks strike the dawn, some strike midnight, some strike not at all…. The Winding World is based on the true tale of a baby found in the snow in a Cornish cove – a love story told through words, poetry, songs and music, set in a community with all its secrets, oddities and humanity. The piece interweaves original songs, stories and soundtrack written by the company
The Winding World is the third collaboration between musicians and composers, Bagas Degol and writer, Annamaria Murphy, but the first time one of this team’s beautiful spoken word shows has been taken on a wider tour beyond the South West. Bagas Degol is made up of multi-instrumentalists and composers Rick Williams, David Twomlow, Alan Burton and David Trahair. They play pipes, fiddles, drums, keyboards, flutes, banjos, guitars and instruments you’ll never have seen, plus they sing! Annamaria Murphy is a superbly talented poet, storyteller and writer with Kneehigh Theatre, BBC Radio 4, Cscape Dance and many others.
Don’t miss this very special book festival taster.
“This show is lovely and many-layered…charming, funny and so very very human.” Pauline Sheppard (Cornish writer)
“It’s a brilliant performance, sublime story telling and beautiful soundscapes, deserves to be a sell out show.” Kirsty Cotton, Hall for Cornwall on the group’s previous collaboration, The Salt Road.
“Just back from watching Salt Road, immersive, atmospheric, musical, epic story telling. Congratulations to all.” Simon Harvey (Director Kneehigh Theatre, and o-region)
