Friday 11th October, 15:15-16:15, Main Marquee
As is traditional, this is a prizegiving event for the Charles Causley Young People’s Poetry Prizes, which are open to every schoolchild and young adult in the country. We’ll hear the shortlistees and winners read before they’re presented with their prizes by the judges, the Cornwall-based poets, Penelope Shuttle and David Devanny.
We‘ll then hear readings from the students at Sir James Smith School in Camelford taking part in the latest Young Walter Scott Prize project in Cornwall. Led by Steph Haxton, this encourages 11-19 year old writers to explore historical fiction drawing on their own family stories and local history.
Admission is free, photography by proud parents, welcome!
