Liz Kessler – Best-selling Cornwall-based author Liz Kessler will use her box of objects to entertain you with a ‘show and tell’ all about her stories of mermaids, fairies, time travel and superpowers. Matt Windle – A huge hit at our 2017 festival, Birmingham-based Matt Windle is also known as the Poet with Punch – a poet by day and a professional boxer by night. Matt delivers his own brand of spoken-word poetry through workshops and performances, using the unusual blend of boxing and poetry to break stereotypes and prove that people can be as diverse and unique as they want to be. Mazed Tales – writer Anna Chorlton and storyteller Sue Field will lead a writing workshop based on Cornish Folk Tales of Place, a collection of tales from North and East Cornwall. They will focus on the link between oral tales and their literary versions, with the help of their friendly marionette Nellie Slogget. You can visit the Mazed Tales website here.
Martin Brown – Illustrator of the hugely successful Horrible Histories books which celebrated their 25th anniversary last year, Martin Brown will lead an action-packed talk full of jokes, stories, live drawing and audience participation, based on the Horrible Histories and the recent acclaimed Lesser Spotted Animals books, which Martin both wrote and illustrated.
